This fabulous large, luxury, self-catering, character cottage dates from 1709 and is Grade II listed. Built in mellow sandstone, Hillside Croft, has oak beams in every room, inglenook fireplaces with cosy wood burning stoves .and pretty leaded and mullioned windows add charm to this wonderful cottage. Nestling quietly amidst 6 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and pastureland this cottage is a delight. There is ample, private off road parking. Located in the gardens you have your own private hot tub, chimera and garden furniture to help you to relax and unwind.   Located in the Derbyshire Dales at the edge of the Peak District National Park and just over 1 mile from Carsington Water and central to all the many attractions and activities that Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire have to offer. Close to the historic Market and Spa towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock, Wirksworth and Buxton. The area has some amazing scenery and fantastic walks for all abilities.   There are 5 comfortable bedrooms (one is accessed via another), four of which are double and one twin giving sleeping capacity for 10 . Within these rooms are 4 further single beds and 2 single bed chairs giving total sleeping for 14 plus two if required. Hair dryers are provided in all rooms.   We provide 2 travel cots and two high chairs. All bedrooms at this luxury holiday cottage are furnished to a high standard with handmade antique pine furniture and co-ordinated furnishings. The floors are a mix of carpets, oak, tiled and stone floors lending character and warmth. There is one en suite bathroom and a fabulous master bathroom which has both a roll top bath and a walk in shower. There is a 3rd WC on the ground floor.   The lounge is separate to the dining room and both have magnificent oak beamed ceilings and warm log burning stoves. In the lounge are 3 comfortable sofa's for cosy evenings in with friends and family, a TV with teletext, video recorder, DVD player and Ipod dock are provided for your entertainment.There is Wi-Fi and full oil central heating.   The dining room has a large farmhouse table seating 10 to 14 with ease. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with all the creative chef will require. There are antique hand made pine kitchen units with a double French pottery sink set in tiled and marble worktops.   An automatic washer, tumble drier, dishwasher, fridge and fridge freezer, microwave and full electric halogen cooker with double oven are provided as well as many smaller items. The windows overlook the beautiful cottage gardens, with mint, lemon balm, chives, black currents and fruit trees.

Our rooms have been thoughtfully renovated to a high standard to create as much comfort as possible, including a small fridge and wine glasses should you wish to 'bring a bottle' to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in your room. Two Dales is perfectly situated for exploring the outstanding countryside of Derbyshire and visiting some of the famous houses and gardens in the area. These include Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. There are many good restaurants and pubs some within walking distance or a short drive away from Chesterfield House. Many of which we do have listed. We are within easy reach of Bakewell [famous for its puddings] and the Spa towns of Buxton and Matlock. You may even like to enjoy an evening at the Buxton Opera House. There is variety for everyone. A family day out could include a trip to the steam railway which is a short walk from Two Dales. Gulliver's Kingdom, Heights of Abraham and Crich Tramway Museum are all a short drive away. We are half an hours drive from the M1 and Derby , Nottingham and Sheffield are all within a reasonable distance. Derbyshire is a haven for walkers so anyone intending to bring their hiking boots will certainly not be disappointed. There are hundreds of miles of amazing countryside to be explored and enjoyed and we have several books on planned routes, which we are more than happy to lend to our guests. After a good nights sleep, you will be served a continental or hearty full English breakfast to set you up for the day. We also offer a lighter breakfast if preferred. We do try to cater for all special dietary requirements. [notice of these would be appreciated upon booking]. All our produce is locally sourced. We usually serve breakfast between 8.00 and 9.30a.m. however we try to be flexible to our guests arrangements and timetables. Whether you are in the area on business. The Hayloft, a former cow byre and hayloft, is superbly situated high up on Eyam Edge in Highcliffe, a small hamlet above the historic village of Eyam, on a south-facing slope looking out over the village. Recently converted to a high standard throughout, the Hayloft offers luxury 4 Star (Gold) self-catering holiday cottage accommodation for 6 people in 3 bedrooms, all with en-suite shower/WC. There are solid oak cottage doors, and solid oak floors upstairs and slate floors with under-floor heating downstairs. The bedrooms (1 double with king-size bed, 2 with twin beds) are downstairs. Upstairs, the light and spacious first floor features exposed roof trusses and has a well-equipped kitchen, ample dining space, and living room area complete with wood-burning stove. There is also a separate cloakroom (WC) on the first floor. To the rear, there is a private terraced garden with outdoor furniture, barbecue and log store, and plenty of parking in the farmyard in front. Highcliffe and Eyam are in the heart of the Peak District National Park, on the boundary between the White Peak and the Dark Peak – a perfect location for visiting Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Castleton and the Peak towns of Tideswell, Bakewell and Buxton. It's a short walk down to the historic plague village of Eyam, and only a mile along the Edge to our excellent local pub, the Barrel Inn at Bretton. Audrey's is a spacious detached property with all accommodation on the ground floor. It is situated less than a mile north of the spa town of Buxton in the heart of the beautiful Peak District. It sits within its own private gardens and has open views towards Buxton and over farmland at Barms Farm. Centrally located, not remote, ideal for visiting Derbyshire's attractions, yet only a short drive away from Buxton's Opera House and it's shopping facilities, restaurants and pubs. Candlelight Cottage is a romantic, oak beamed holiday cottage overlooking the green in the picturesque village of Litton. Recently renovated and beautifully furnished to a very high standard, our 5 star self catering holiday cottage accommodates up to 4 guests. The spacious oak beamed sitting room enjoys fine views over Litton village green. Chinese prints adorn the walls and there are soft leather sofas in which to relax. The feature stone fireplace houses a natural coal effect gas stove lending the room an atmosphere of total comfort and warmth. A 32" flat screen colour TV and DVD recorder are provided along with a radio/CD player, iPod docking station, Wi-Fi and a selection of games, DVD's, maps and tourist information. The sunny, south facing dining kitchen is fully equipped with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.The pine shutters, slate tiled floor and AGA stove give this room a feel of real character and warmth making it the ideal place to cook and dine. Stairs lead up from the kitchen to the bathroom and two bedrooms (sleeps 4). The double bedroom looks out over the patio garden and fields beyond and has a Victorian style double bed, while the double bedded room looks out over the village green and Litton Edge. The newly installed bathroom is fully tiled and features a bath, separate shower cubicle, Edwardian style suite and heated towel rail. A stable door leads from the kitchen out into an enclosed and very private patio style garden. Garden furniture and a BBQ are provided in summer.Stairs lead out of the kitchen down to the utility room, which houses the deep freeze, and other utility items. A tumble drying service is available. Ample space is available here for the storage of luggage and the drying of boots and outdoor clothing. Litton is a charming village of the 'White' Peak surrounded by fields with walls built in the local limestone. The village has a community-run shop and an excellent pub, the Red Lion, which serves good food. There is excellent walking from the door.
